We built this course to create an affordable and convenient starting point for corporations/organizations that want to build an LGBTQ+ inclusive workplace.

Each of the trainers in this course has experienced first hand the challenges that arise from workplaces that are not welcoming environments. We created a high quality self-paced course with easily accessible language, so that it is approachable for learners who have varying levels of familiarity with the LGBTQ+ community.

Why should this course matter to you, your team, and your organization?
Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) has become increasingly necessary to the success of organizations. Research from McKinsey and Deloitte has shown a correlation between diverse teams, cultures of belonging, and organizational performance.
Psychological safety, which is the feeling that you can be your authentic self and speak your mind without fear of negative consequences, has also been connected to strong employee performance. In Better Up’s 2020 study, organizations with strong cultures of belonging saw 75% less employee sick days, 50% less employee turnover, and a 56% increase in employee performance. There’s no denying that addressing DEIB issues is good for people and good for business.
The experiences of LGBTQ+ people are often not covered in organizational diversity efforts. The knowledge you will learn here will be critical to building diverse teams and creating safer spaces for LGBTQ+ people across your organization.
What will this course not do?
This eLearning course is an excellent first step for your team to learn how to build an LGBTQ+ inclusive workplace. While this course will provide your team with a solid foundation of knowledge, and some tangible action items to take to be allies in the workplace, it cannot help your team debrief or implement the learning.
